Serval and Caracal -Official Visual A new key visual was released for season two of Kemono Friends that features Serval and her best friend Caracal. Caracal was mention in season one but never shown. Other than the trailer she has been a game only friend. Speaking of that trailer it received massive downvotes from fans who are still mad about the firing of the series’ writer and director Tasuki. The “No Tatsuki, No Tanoshii!” controversy has flipped the entire fan base on its head. When I first tried to watch Kemono Friends it seemed like a badly animated kids show. Not only did it turn out alright but it now has a massive fan base that is loyal to Tasuki. I do not think anyone predicted a kid's show would blow up like this! So what do you think?

Grape-kun the Humboldt Penguin became known around the world for falling in love with a cardboard cutout of Hululu. Anime fans around the world saw it as the cutest thing ever. Even animals cannot resist moe! Sadly the otaku penguin passed away this week. Grape-kun was a real-life Kemono Friend. Rest in Peace Grape-kun. So what do you think?

Cat[girl]urday would not exist without catgirl and kemonomimi characters. Many anime series include kemonomimi girls in them and they are a well-established part of pop culture. Traces of kemonomimi culture can be seen from ancient Egypt to Playboy bunnies. In my ten years of running C[G]D I have covered several series that do not just include animal girls but puts them in starring roles. Here are a few of the most memorable shows I have covered in the past 10 years. Centaur's Worries This show just started airing but has a lot of potential. It takes place in a fictional world where creates with six limbs evolved into humans instead of four. I have only seen the first episode but under the slice of life style lies dark undertones. Hululu, Grape-kun and the penguins of the Tobu Zoo “ Art by cocoa (cocoa0191) Not that long ago the Tobu Zoo placed cut-outs of characters from the sleeper hit anime Kemono Friends as a cross promotion. During this time the penguin known as Grape-kun seems to have fallen in love with the cut-out of the humboldt penguin Hululu. When they were first separated he stopped eating. Even after the promotion ended and the other cut-outs were removed Hululu remains. It would seem the Tobu Zoo did not wish to separate Grape-kun from his waifu! Now they can stay together indefinitely! So what do you think?

Serval and Kaban “ You Name parody art by 髭and髪 Earlier this week I decided to give Kemono Friends another shot. I have made it about four episodes in and like others have noticed that what appears to be a kid’s show has some dark undertones. Ironically I was invited to watch a movie yesterday call Your Name. It seems the two may be connected… connected like Taki and Mitsuha… like Kaban and Serval… Like cats and girls. Granted I am only speculating based on what I have seen so far and this parody fan art. That said in a way are we not all connected? So what do you think?
