The cast of NEKOPARA -Art by Sayori E3 is wrapping up and there is a distinct lack of nekomimi news… For whatever reason, no one is talking about the biggest news to come out of the conference. In fact, there is a major game that was left out by almost everyone. A few months ago NEKOPARA Vol. 1 was announced for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Somehow it did not make the waves it should have then and it is not now. Yesterday the launch date was announced as July 4th. The console versions will feature a new theme song, additional CG, and a new episode. Despite the fact that these versions will most likely be censored spending time with Sayori’s amazing catgirls is always worth it. So this 4th of July take a break from Fortnite and visit La Soleil! Cat[girl]urday would not exist without catgirl and kemonomimi characters. Many anime series include kemonomimi girls in them and they are a well-established part of pop culture. Traces of kemonomimi culture can be seen from ancient Egypt to Playboy bunnies. In my ten years of running C[G]D I have covered several series that do not just include animal girls but puts them in starring roles. Here are a few of the most memorable shows I have covered in the past 10 years. Centaur's Worries This show just started airing but has a lot of potential. It takes place in a fictional world where creates with six limbs evolved into humans instead of four. I have only seen the first episode but under the slice of life style lies dark undertones. Kemonomimi characters are used as an analogy for different races and cultures. I look forward to seeing how this series handles such sensitive subjects. Catgirl fans rejoice! The first PV for the NEKOPARA OVA is up on the NEKO WORKs official Youtube page! The OVA follows the story of the hit visual novel of the same name. In it a son from a family of Japanese confection makers named Kashou Minaduki leaves home to start a shop of his own. Two of his family's catgirls named Chocola and Vanilla sneak along and convince Minaduki to let them stay. The OVA hit Kickstarter on December 28, 2016 and raised over  $100,000 in less than one hour! It is currently at  $551,848 and still has 21 days remaining!  The power of catgirls is truly compelling.
