Cat[girl]urday: Wolf and Campfire

Image
Due to my love of Nekomimis I have decided to post something catgirl related each week! It maybe cute. It maybe sexy. It may even be a bit disturbing... 360 art of Craft and Holo -Art by doujiang rr The Spice and Wolf VR game hit the Japanese crowdfunding site Campfire this week and was funded in just two hours! If there is one thing Craft and Holo know it is how to make money. For fans in the west, SpicyTails plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign next week. If you can not wait to see Craft and Holo in VR however, doujiang rr has you covered. This artist made a 360 panorama that can be viewed in VR headsets. Although flat 2D images are not true VR who would miss out on a chance to get this close to Holo... and Craft? The VR version can be found on Veer. So what do you think?

Innovate or Alienate

Image
Image from Sony It is hard to believe that Spider-Man comes out this Friday! I was lucky enough to find a Limited Edition PS4 still available to preorder a few weeks back. When gyro controls were added to the Switch version of Fortnight people started to request them on the PS4. I forgot the PS3 and PS4 had gyros. For the most part, I have sat this generation out and have not touched a PS4. I started looking into the controller more and started looking into games that use its unique features. It seems like not many games use the gyro, touchpad, speaker, etc. This makes me wonder what it takes to innovate game controllers and hardware. Nintendo has taken more drastic steps in the past with systems like the Wii. The motion controllers were so different developers had to makes games just for them. The drawbacks were clear and it was one of the reasons not many 3 rd party games were ported. Even the Switch has many of its function left underutilized like the depth sensor and H...

Cat[girl]urday: Wolf and VR

Due to my love of Nekomimis I have decided to post something catgirl related each week! It maybe cute. It maybe sexy. It may even be a bit disturbing... -Concept Art by Yō Shimizu Spice and Wolf creator Isuna Hasekura is a big fan of VR. He was inspired after reading Dr. Naotaka Fujii's Kakuchō Suru Nō (Expanding Brain) back book in 2014. After contacting the doctor he got to test out the VR technology available at that time. Hasekura spent the next two years developing the story for Project LUX, his first VR game. Now his team at Spicy Tails are working on their first VR anime… and it is Spice and Wolf! It will come out in early 2019 on major VR platforms and be viewable in normal reality on PC. Not much else is known. Will you get to play as a stranger, Kraft, or even Holo? If the later I recommend look down and behind you at you beautifully tail. Just be careful as you may gain a tail-biting fetish… So what do you think?

Cat[girl]urday: Felicia in a new Dimension

Due to my love of Nekomimis I have decided to post something catgirl related each week! It maybe cute. It maybe sexy. It may even be a bit disturbing... Felicia (Darkstalkers) by CGHow on Sketchfab -3D Model by CGHow Today I am going to try something a little different. As technology changes new mediums form for art. Lately, I have been spending more time browsing Sketchfab which is a site for showcasing 3D models. Much like the image boards I visit, it is easy to get stuck in an endless loop of suggestions. Of course, I would not have brought this site up if it did not reach a certain point of refinement… Behold Felicia in all of her 3D glory! CGHow has done an amazing job of taking everyone’s favorite non-succubus DarkStalker and bring her into the third dimension. With a VR headset, you can even feel like you are standing right next to her. Mobile users can try there app while desktop fans can use WebVR in Firefox. You can get the details from their VR page . A...

Cat[girl]urday: Ready Tanuki One

Image
Due to my love of Nekomimis I have decided to post something catgirl related each week! It maybe cute. It maybe sexy. It may even be a bit disturbing... A racoon girl leaving VR -Art by jiffic Ready Player One is out this weekend and now is a good time to get lost in a world of pure imagination. Take this tanuki girl for example as she uses an Oculus Rift with an Xbox controller to explorer the virtual world. She either does not have Touch controllers or is playing a game that does not require them. Either way, she seems to be surprised. Did someone walk in on her or did something in VR startle her? She must have been jacked in for a while. I know raccoons are supposed to have a mask around their eyes but I do not think that one is supposed to be there…  So what do you think?

Valve's Big VR News

Image
Valve is making headlines in gaming news today for announcing three VR games. During a  media briefing , this morning Valve Co-Founder Gabe Newell confirmed to Eurogamer that the company is making not one but three full VR games. "When I say we're building three games, we're building three full games, not experiments," is what the site reported. Not many other details were given about the games but they will be made using both the Source 2 and Unity. Valve is also working on advancing their VR hardware in order to make better games. Gabe explained that the need for new hardware was felt after Valve added VR support to their older titles: "One of the first things we did is we got Half-Life 2 and Team Fortress running in VR, and it was kind of a novelty. That was purely a developer milestone, but there was absolutely nothing compelling about it, the same way nobody's going to buy a VR system so they can watch movies." He also cited Nintendo for their abil...
